Bad Dust

You're not what you said you are.

Last time you were wide and far.

Now you're a slippery fish swimming in the green,

And I'm a dirty toad wanting to get clean.

I've gone the wrong way down a one way street,

Walking on my head instead of my feet.

I read the sign posted at the top of the road,

But this is not the pleasant street that it showed.



Bad dust swept me off my feet.

Had a ticket to the ceiling, and now I'm on the floor.

Asked for candy from the cherubs, got snuff from the Devil.

And I'm lying in the gutter watching stars come crashing down upon my head.



You put me on the wrong shelf

Upside down beside myself.

I'm sitting with the headless dolls,

Bricks of LEGO, missile down the hole.

We're in the ugly duckling crew.

Listen fast for king different swan song.

We'll spread our wings and dive away

Into the night to sleep through the day...

Just a match with a spark.
