You are gazing at the stars - high above there is a path
Leading over sleeping hills to the blood red battlefields, 
All the prayers for the knight, all the tears for your child 
Never make your son return, deep inside you know – he’s gone. 

Soon I’ll be fallen from grace,
But my home lies beyond the misty waves,
Way of Hera, carry my farewell
To my homeland!

Deeds of bold will never die, distant stars in stormy sky,
Shine forever and a day, take my last words far away.
Though I long to break these chains and live life once again,
War ends, my hour strikes, only glory never dies.

One more time the sun will rise, dawn will close somebody’s eyes,
If the crystal stars could wait, if they only wouldn’t fade… 
If the doom could stay asleep, if the death relaxed his grip,
I could see my native land, where the winds so freely chant.
