Shattered Reflections

Enclosed in a prison of mirrors
a bleak image I tried to see
But as the walls kept getting closer
it was only myself
I found staring back at me

So shattered were my reflections
piercing their brittle pieces into me
Leaving me bleeding without a tourniquet
with every single wound so deep

Fragments of the cold and lifeless glass
cut me with every footstep I took in the dark
As I left behind a scarlet trace
which went unnoticed like the pain I embrace
