About Kings and Queens I

That Monday morning was such a curiosity 
Soundless sound of a cruel liberty 
Lights were out, moving picture passing by 
It’s time to leave but it’s just hard to make it right 

Walking the streets I see leaves down from the trees 
“There’s no comeback we all have our time in here” 
I whistle a tune to reject reality 
But there’s no use, there’s a life that stands in front of me 

I gotta find myself a way out 
To keep me away from touching the ground 

We are not the coolest kids 
We are not them anymore 
We are not the kings and queens 
Let them close the cellar door 
We live in the shadows of our lives 
We dream with a place where we can hide 

You hear “tie your shoes or you’ll fall out” 
They say out loud “you’re not eighteen anymore”, 
“You gotta find your place, but I know what’s best for you” 
“Don’t try to make it hard, with time you’ll learn it is true”
