We are the trekkers. We believe in the bright future of our planet, race, galaxy and universe. We are the ones who are building that future. We know exactly when Captain Kirk was born and we are certain that a day will come when humanity invents warp drive and makes First Contact. It will happen, because we know that it must.

We are the trekkers. We are the ones who build phasers, transporters and “Enterprise” out of whatever materials we have available. We raise tribbles at home and grow Vulcan ears on our heads. We learn to speak Klingon, we use Surak's meditation system and we cosplay Nero. Our fandom has been popular since 1966 and we are a part of it.

We are the trekkers. United we stand, divided we fall. We wear our hand made Delta logos with pride. We can raise an eyebrow, saying “Fascinating” and we can give the Vulcan salute, which is commonly known as “that thing with twisted fingers they do”. We know all of Kirk's special hooks, we are perfectly capable of performing the Vulcan nerve pinch, and we can cure any disease just by saying: "I am a trekker, not a ..." Our hearts skip a beat when we hear the words "Space, the final frontier..."

We're always eager to make friends with other trekkers! When we meet them, we grab a hold of them, exclaiming, “you're one of us!” We're the real Fellowship of the Ring, because we're a true community of people, coming together in friendship and brotherhood. It is we who consider adventure and friendship the most important things in life. We write brillant fanfics instead of novels that could earn us money, and just the knowledge that we bring some happiness to other trekkers is enough. We are the lunatics, the dreamers, the romantics, madly in love with space travel. We are both childishly naive and truly wise.

And now, the most important thing. We are the trekkers and that's why we can do anything we set our minds to. We are fully convinced that there are no hopeless situations, because Jim Kirk has proved it, time and again. We put our trust in logic, we follow our hearts, and as a result, the random chances operate in our favour. We are confident that anything is possible. After all, the Q-Continnum does exist somewhere. We are who we are. This is our past, present, and future. Let's make it so!
