Purest Grey

Hate ain't red, despair ain't black,
it's a blinding glow you can't see through.
Endless colours blend to shades of grey.
Green as hope and deep blue fear,
a purple flow that we all know.
All these colours shining on my face.
This room inside of me is still dark and empty.
Can't you see the walls are all painted black,
painted red from the blood of my dreams,
painted brown by years of taking [bad word] 
But these colours they don't mean a thing ... and everything.
I colour-blind my soul,
overpaint my shadow on the wall ... before it takes control.
