The sheets were sodden I could barely breathe, I'd seen her! Upon a damp, seabed -
blooming Orca whale and then I'd harpooned her dead. I awoke again at three in the morn, to a light so brilliant
I swore it to be dawn. I'd constructed a great funeral pyre,
Tied her to it then devoured her as if I were the fire.
With the daybreak came a tapping at the pane;
How I did fright! How my ears they did strain...
The glass blew open in flew a small songbird,
With a voice so chillin' I wish I'd never heard...
