Well he’s all alone with his soul/The night is here again, he’ll lose control/And he knows it, as he sits there calmly, in his mind he breaks down the walls/It’s a figure of speech, I never meant anything when I said, “I love you man, I hope you’re feeling alright, okay. Feeling better? Alright, okay.”/Well I never said a word I meant to keep, but for you to the Lord I pray I change/It’s Two A.M. his life is on the line, in his mind he breaks down the walls/And he thinks he might have just enough time before the pain makes him too afraid/Quietly he waits through the dark of the night as a [bad word] down his face/He begins to [bad word] be told we never stop, we say, “I’ll pray for you, you’re in my thoughts.”/Oh but we’re so quick to close the door, saying, “I’m holding out hope for the Lord.”/And I can’t watch lest I start to know the agony you feel most every day/So I begin to pray to the Lord who forgives his own, I begin to pray, Lord forgive me now/O Lord, forgive me now/If you can, forgive me somehow, O Lord, forgive me now/It’s a figure of speech, I never meant anything when I said, “I love you man, I hope you’re feeling alright, okay.
