17. Gregor Samsa  - Untitled II
Gregor Samsa has always been a collective that has worshipped patience. Although the band generally favors the quiet, pensive moments in music, it is no stranger to the freedom of unrestrained chaos and the eruption of emotion. "Untitled II" sticks closely to the post-rock book in terms of structure, but its climax is especially beautiful, blending gorgeous instrumentation with assertive guitars and dueling vocals. It's quite rare that the the lyrics in a post-rock track heighten the experience, but when Champ Bennet and Nikki King sing "You love me more than I will never know," a wave of sentiment washes over the listener and percolates deep to the core. "Untitled II" is the perfect bittersweet combination. (Jordan Volz)
