Climbing the tree with the best view in town,
I dream of that girl laughing – laughing so innocently.

If you strain your eyes to see beyond the flying fish,
You’ll see days that are giving their color to every corner of our city.

If we end up saying goodbye, having made a pinky promise,
I’ll just inhabit this tree until the day it is fulfilled.

We repeat again and again; we shed tears in the process;
We stop, then start again – every part of the process seems to seek confirmation.

My eyes open slowly to the stillness of the sleeping city.

There’s a single secret at the point between night and day –
It will leap from its box and inhabit our words.

We repeat again and again; in doing so, we draw breath.
We head on back, then walk forth again… searching for somewhere to hide away our treasures.

I’m still inhabiting this tree – I’ll simply reside within those words.

Let’s forget to bring some things along, so we don’t end up with the same ones;
I’ll give you some of mine, so let’s complete the trade if we ever meet again!

Some things end, and some things change;
That’s why we can’t help but grow up – as if embracing every part of the process.
