More Knives

My lungs are closing in, 

I need more calm to fill it with 

different melody 

different song to fill it with 

My head is caving in 

I need more space to fill it with 

different sense of time 

different place to fill it with 

I feel I’m getting closer to the end 

But I don’t want to go 

Oh no not yet 

When everything’s on fire 

I need new hands to feel it with 

When everyone’s a liar 

whole new plan to deal with 

I’ve lost track of my health 

I need new eyes to see it with 

Some new found sense of self 

new mind to free it with 

I’m feeling that I just let myself go 

But I don’t want to be stuck here 

All alone 

In between all the lives I’ve lived 

a line traces all that I give 

And everything that I’ve taken away 

But nothing’s truer that to live just for today 

Or so they say 

In the belly of the beast 

I need more light to fill it with 

I look on as they feast 

Give me more knives 

To kill them with
