Punk Rock Uniform

You got your arms crossed because you’re a tough dude.
You’re judging every single person from the back of the room.
You don’t care about anybody in your class.
You say that nothing else matters except for The Clash.
You say look at me, I’ll never conform.
You can tell by how I’m wearing my Punk Rock Uniform.

Not trying to be like everybody else, well that’s just like being like everybody else.
The things you think are special are actually the norm,
so don’t think that you’re different in your punk rock uniform.

You head home and log onto the message board.
Your screen name is Johnny Ramone 1974.
You’re so quick to start an argument about what’s cool.
You say that real music died with The [bad word] Pistols.
You talk down to everyone, but you don’t want to be judged.
You hate when Sally Prom Queen likes a band that you love.

Not trying to be like everybody else, well that’s just like being like everybody else.
The things you think are special are actually the norm,
so don’t think that you’re different in your punk rock uniform.

You might think it’s ironic, and a little wrong,
that I’m talking about punk in a pop punk song.
But what you don’t realize is that this song’s about me,
and the way I used to be when I was just fourteen.
