man disillusioned with life, love and values confesses himself in front of a cup of rhum, alcohol that always helped him to soothe the [bad word] and harshnesses of existence “la vida es una herida absurda” (life is an absurd wound).
He speaks of oblivion, the briefness of life, the absence of love. To avoid those pains is “el licor que aturde” (the liquor that stuns).
