Holding firm through every season
Through my own contempt for reason
Empty spaces where our words dwelled
Climbing up one hundred stairwells
Moments when the secret passage
twists in a relentless fashion
We have no desire to find our way
Yet here we are, standing strong

Dodging eyes of condemnation

People pull with tireless passion
Stretching limbs in each direction
One who claims to know what’s true by
pasting thoughts with thread and glue

Clinging to what’s left in us alive
