Got a new taste in my mouth.

This time I don’t wanna spit it out.

I don’t know how it happened.

I was losing the battle.

I became resigned to a state of mind.

Came from nowhere

I don’t know how

So don’t struggle

I don’t know where you came from

But I know it don’t feel wrong

All that I can do is give myself to you.

 

Can I trust it?

Is it real?

Will it leave me in mourning?

All of this new blood I feel,

Is it a slow killing poison?

 

If wishes were bullets we’d all be dead.

Prayers come soaring way overhead.

Confronted with substance, I double take.

If this is an error it’s mine to make.

Straight in the vein so I look away.

Pain never comes but there’s no restraint.

Intoxicated but I don’t faint.

I count up my fingers and all the saints.

Is it real?

Didn’t come with a warning.
