Last night
I lay awake 'till 3
Staring at the walls
Of Hotel Ukraine
And Late night BBC.

Alone in every way
No heroes no parades
No flowers in the streets
Or morphine in my tea.

Blue smoke
Drifts through morning haze
So many shades of grey
As Moscow slowly wakes
To another winter's day.

Brought breakfast up to me
